  • I AM NOT MOVING - Short Film - Occupy Wall Street

Its looks at the Occupy movement in the sates and is inter cut with footage of US politicans talking about the rights of protestors in other parts of the world. Its very interesting take on the situtation.

I dunno, I like a good movement... I had one this morning for instance

Well done for getting to 1:23, I got about 12.3 seconds into it before I started jumping through to see if there was anything interesting. Politicians and political activists... I'd almost rather watch Beasts of War... almost.

The Occupy movement has supporters here in my city. They had a rally last month, march at the University sports games and in front of the Judicial buildings here. :grouphug:

The American finacial and political systems are in need of serious reform, there is no doubt about it. Corporations have way too much influence in politics and impacy on the average persons way of life. Humas are corupt. We learned that in in like the first lord of the rings, I mean c'mon. When you deregulize ****, people are going to take whatever they can. Money and power corupts people. Capitolizism baby! If you don;t the next person will so get yours. Strong people crumpble in those situations. There needs to be a serious balance shift of wealth and responsibilty. I agree with message and the desires of the people, I just don't see what camping in the city park is going to do other than dilute the validity of the movement. Not to mention pushing people on the fence to the other side for not wanting to be associated with what I would consider missdirected protests. At this point they've made their point, but what are they accomplishing?

You should see it here my town. Two full city blocks downtown covered with people in tents and makeshift structures, tarps all over the place, strung together from trees and other tents. Full refugee camp in downtown Portland. and it stinks. I'm talking odor here, the smell is terrible. Like garbage mixed with BO, outhouses and if your lucky, you get a whiff of some heady pot smoke. These people are wearing Nike shoes and blogging about it on their $2k macbooks. I just don't get what they are going to accomplish by this.

America commits horrorfull acts within our own borders and even more outside them. We have alot of work to do and long way to go. I do greatly appreciate that I live in a country that will even allow the right to assemply on a such a level and think we have some reform momentum, but please get the fu(k outta the park.

(PS: I didn't even watch the video and sorry to rant my oppions. i hate to bring touchy politics in my hobbies)

I just thought it was interesting to see politicans talking about the rights and freedoms of people in other countries and yet at the same time protestors in thier own country weren't being given those rights. The slight hipocrasy of the average politican......

The slight hipocrasy of the average politican......I personally don't think this movement will achieve anything...no matter how big it gets. Capitalism isn't going to be banished, too many people and countries benefit from it....
