Nice mini. From the photos I'd say that the metals on the spear thingy could do with a wash and then highlighting. Also the left front of the coat, blue needs a little more blending.

Nice colour choices. Lets have some deeper shades and push those highlights and this is going to be nice. Love the hair, very anime.

        Thanks guys ^^
the hair took a bit of guess work so lucky that it turns out ok, need to get some pink paint instead of red + white mix

re hightlight and the robe, I really need to work on that, especially I am not too good with blending, that was a blue base coat with GW Blue wash, then thinned blue base coat again, perhaps need to do a bit of testing before putting it on her

for the spear thingy, still haven't decide on how to make of the pointy bit yet, is it crystal or is it metal? hmmm

I agree with Wag! The coat could use some better blending to make it more smooth :) I really like how she looks and LOVE the pink hair!!! :D Looking good so far! :)

I say make it a crystal and do it in orange. I agree with what Wag and boyzie said, push the highlights and this model will be super sweet.

Nice work so far. :) Other comments about blending & highlights already made.

As for the spear tip... hmmm... orange crystal would go good with cloak, but clash with pink hair. is very thick to be a good metal. stone is another choice, like obsidian. Pink (like pink topaz) would go well with hair, and a light purple with hair & cloak.

Or, if'n you really wanna push it, try this: http://science.nationalgeographic.co...halcedony.html lol!

tried to put in a lot of effort on using thinned paint but I think I haven't thinned it enough so the highlights appear too strong...

Paint dillution is one of those things you have to experiment with. If you want it thin enough to do glazes with, then you're looking at anywhere between 6 to 10 drops of water per drop of paint. It really depends on the color. You can always swipe the paint across a paper towel with a brush to get a good idea of consistency.

You've given the piece a lot of character- it's a good TT job.

thanks for the comment... any tips on how I can make it into a better than TT job? smoother transiting between the mid tone and highlight perhaps?
