Well, this tree is for a commissioned table. But after seeing how delicate it is I am probably going to go with the flock rout and finish this one later. The acid etch brass is very flimsy sadly.
That being said, I may well put this up on eBay once I finish it. Time will tell. The amount of time I've sunk into the damned thing is kind of nuts. I think I'm up to about 10 hours already and I'm only about 1/5th of the way done.Leave a comment:

About a year ago, I was talking to a contractor dude at my workplace, I work in Telecommunications.
Anyhow, this guy would make trees out of wire (similar to your armature) but slightly more intricate.
He brought one in to show me, and it was nice, but not beyond what I've seen folks like you being capable of.
The point of my story (there is one) is that he told me he sells these at craft shows or on the internet for hundreds of dollars.
The one he showed me was probably 18 inches tall, I think he was asking $300 for it.Leave a comment:

Hey Wampers. I've been back from Shanghai for almost a year now. So I figured I should drop in and show you what I've been working on.
Wire Armature:
Base sculpt and then kneadatite greenstuff texture:
Application of leaf structures. They are acid etch brass that I did myself. It was a surprisingly simple thing to do once I got it figured. It did take about 10 attempts to get a process that worked though. >.< I have a lot of extra muriatic acid lying about that I won't be using now.
