  • Marine scout chapter help needed

Ok I got this fella on commission:

Hes a very rare release. Only ever available in the UK for a very short time (never even got a blister pack) before he was pulled due to casting problems.

Anyway what I need help with is a chapter. the client has left it up to me but as I dont game I am not down on that many chapters. Ideally I am looking for one with a paint scheme to suit this fella rather than for any gaming reason.

He will be painted in a gritty and grimy styleeeeee

Who told you that? I've got four or five of them out of blisters along with the other bolter armed guy. Unless this one is somehow different and they went back and resculpted him for general release then he was fairly common in his day.

Regardless, I did mine as Imperial Fists with yellow hard plates and khaki fatigues on a desert base. fits in pretty well if I do say so myself

the guy who comissioned it (plus on solegends) apparently the issue was with the strap undercut so they pulled its production and replaced with a different version.

would be interested to see if yours did differ

Completely ignoring your desire to select a chapter based on paint scheme rather than for gaming reasons...

Any chapter that has been all but exterminated will have a preponderance of scouts as they'll be rebuilding their numbers through aggressive recruiting. Crimson Fists spring to mind as they were all but wiped out by Orks. Clearly some dead ork related basing would be desirable.
I'll be lucky to paint a single figure this year or any other. If I do manage it, no one will be more shocked than I.

Ah, that's a possibility then. I know an almost identical version was available in blisters as I had so stock check enough of them in my day. I'll see if I can dig mine out later and see if there are any discernible differences.

I quite like Soul Drinkers (almost pre-heresy Emperors Children in scheme, Purple with Bronzey gold trim). Dark Angels and White Scars are the others that spring to mind.

What colour do you want to paint? Chances are there's a Chapter that fits somewhere.

Ashen Wraiths scouts would look awesome! Very urban.

nah no paint chips mate! just paint it grubby it will look kick a$$ and on a base with broken concrete with some re-bar sticking out! I know its done often but Urban Camo style requires an Urban themed base and if its only on a GW base ya dont really have that much room to play with, so a little over hang will expand the base a little for a bit more ground detail?
