looks good mate, I think some smoothing between knarls would be good, its a bit tentacle like in places. Or have you added creepers?

I have indeed added creepers but they need thinning and made to look a bit jagged. They do look like tentacles at the moment. The pictures are cack but my biggest problem is that I have lost some of the texture from the bark. Is my only option to add more super sculpy and if so how can I stop it from losing some of the definition as before?

or I might suggest using green stuff (if you're more skilled with it)? just to add bark to the tree...

actually filler might work too, it gives a slightly rough finish.

Might be worth making a press mould to push into the medium once applied

Hey guys! my trees are on hold at the moment! in a desperate attempt to finish another wraithknight 6 harlequins and an Autarch for my son!! then I have my WAMPed minis to finish! but soon guys I will get on with it,
However, While waiting to get going Ive been thinking over some covering ideas and have come up with this...

Spray the bare wire tree frames with spray adhesive, once cured, wrap the tree in masking tape, then spray again with adhesive, Be sure to do this in a well vented area. once cured, dip the tree into a solution of diluted tile grout and just as it is about to cure drag a toothbrush top to bottom this should loosen the surface enough to look like bark. once dried spray with what ever colour trees ya need, dark to light bark and then paint the largest exposed areas with crackle medium, this should add that little bit of texture to the bark.
hey presto!! one tree with bark. then add foliage.
