    Product Review - Ma.K Gustav G 1/35 Scale

Since you don't see many of these around and they're dead cool (in my book anyway) I thought I would write a short report on the - Ma.K Strahl Demokratische Republik Gustav Panzer Kampf Anzug Aust.G (I have no idea what any of that means by the way) in 1/35th scale by Hasegawa.

I picked this up from void models (www.voidmodels.co.uk - however there website is down at the moment) at figureworld last weekend. Coming in at around £25 you get 2...

Miniature Mentor Tutorial- Ben Kometsí Creating and Painting Unique Bases Review

    Introduction

This is the latest release from the Miniature Mentor group. I have been a subscriber to the site for over a year now, and having downloaded a number of these, this has been the most practical and achievable one to follow along so far. I donít think itís fair to Miniature Mentor to go into the major details, tips and advice in this review, but what should follow is a rough breakdown of whatís in it and a general feel of my experience as a viewer.

    The basics

Member Review: Pehua by Freebooter Miniatures

This week WAMP announced the collaboration with Freebooter miniatures for a WAMP specials contest. Enough reason to write a review on one of their miniatures. This should give anyone not familiar with Freebooter some idea what can be expected, but might also inspire some of you that already own some of their miniatures :) This review focuses on Pehua, a metal miniature produced by Freebooter Miniatures. This miniature can be used in a game called Freebooter's Fate. It can be bought as part of ...

  • Review: Solomon Kane
    by Darklord
Introduction FeR miniatures is becoming one of the go-to sites for larger scale miniatures in recent times, developing a reputation for producing stunning busts and figures, and collaborating with sculptors such as Raffaele Picca and David Zabrocki. It is run by the equally talented painter Fernando Ruiz, who in fact painted the box art for the kit we're looking at here. Chances are that if you've seen a historical figure/bust on Facebook or Putty & Paint over the last 12 months, it's from this ...

    by Darklord
Dark Art Studios turns 12 at the end of the year we manage to catch a few words with Byron about the new Vengeance Miniatures range and the new Table Top game from Dark Art Ė Arena of Doom.

Hey Byron, please tell us about Vengeance Miniatures?

The new miniature range is 35mm heroic scale and will be made using traditional techniques out of an alloy metal which is our own formula.

How did the name come about? Vengeance Miniatures ...

  • Coming Clean: Colours of Battle Paints
    by Cregan Tur
Sometimes reviews are just hard to write. Often itís because what youíre reviewing is hard to define within the scope youíre used to working in; itís something new, a deviation. But what could be more straight forward than reviewing paints? Iíve done it before, after all. So why was a review so difficult to write? Part of the reason is that, as far as my research has shown, these paints are manufactured by the same company that makes Privateer Pressí P3 line of paints. Theyíre even in the same...

  • Painting Faces
    by dpowell
You can never have too many tutorials on how to paint faces, right? Well, hopefully because here's another one... This is my general approach to painting human faces. The main example is a 54mm figure but I use the same ideas on 28mm and 75 or 90mm figures. The difference with going up or down in scale is the level of detail we can reasonably expect to achieve. If you're painting a smaller figure don't worry about putting as much detail into the eyes. For the face focus on the main shapes/feat...
