Holy moly that's such an elegant solution to the two-base model problem. I love it!

    Thanks chaps

Getting all six wires into position was a pain, but I’m glad it’s worked out!

Im hoping to get a bit of work done on the bust soon, if I can avoid life getting in the way too much...

I did manage to get a bit of painting done!

I tried to push myself a bit, doing a dark blue iris with a paler blue inner and flecks of turquoise. What do people think?

Going the right way. Her staring straight ahead or looking down at Salt are the sensible options for the gaze too.

Would like to see a touch of white in the corner of the black as well, because I know you can do it!

Damnit, I knew there was something I’d planned to do!
Her looking at salt as he wriggled about would have been a much better look...

No pictures as yet, but I've stripped the paint from her eyes and carefully painted the primer back in (including the fade). The eye area is a bit more shadowed than before, but the colour blends smoothly and there's no tidelines from the old primer, so I can always brighten it up some more.

Then I'll retry the eyes this week and get them pointing down and right so she's sneaking a look at salt

I know I said I'd redo the eyes this week, but... I haven't. I've prepped some more morticians though, but I can't prime them as too many of my pin vices are occupied with partly painted things. Rather than clearing one the usual way (stick the model back in a box), I thought I'd make myself finish a piece that's been hanging around close to completion for ages. So today, I painted leather straps on the Last Immortal:

Hopefully the eye is still drawn to his face, and when I have faded tattoos on the chest and more recent, darker ones closer to the neck and head that will help too. Or would it be better the other way round - one way frames the face with starker contrast, the other darkens the lower parts of the model. I can't decide.

Still, those tattoos will get done soon with a bit of luck, then it's just a case of replacing the little wire with a more solid rod, painting the underside, and getting it onto a plinth!

Well, this didn't go entirely to plan, but I think I'm done with it. The front I like, the back... after redoing it completely already I decided just to let it go as an older, cruder, more faded tattoo. Not the plan, but I don't want to try and repaint the back yet again to redo it...
