    Bamboo Tutorial

    Hello!
I made a quick tutorial on how I made bamboo in one of my entries over in the Iron Painter contest at Wyrd miniatures.

I thought I'd post it here as well, in case someone is interested.

It's just a jpg, so you should be able to save it.

Hmm... looks like the forum might have resized the image, so here's a direct link to the original size:

I need to make some large, dense patches of bamboo for a Burma WW2 board. I've picked up a load of plastic/wire bamboo from an online store in China but I think I'll go with this for the interior of each piece meaning I can stretch the plastic pieces further. Trouble now is finding a source of suitable plastic leaves for the canopy.

They are nice but for the amount I need I could probably buy a car for same money. I reckon aquarium supplies are the way to go. I've seen mats with loads of little plastic leaves on but I can't remember the manufacturer. You're the fish expert Pete, any ideas?

No clue mate, sorry. I've only bought aquarium plants once and that was at Hobby lobby for some Malifaux bushes. They do look rather bamboo though. Google retrieved me good results, but tough to see how the scale would fit.

Great post. Even if we do not apply for it now, it's excellent tutorial. Thanks for sharing :-).
