Nils' Look at me I'm painting thread

I picked up my Jessica Thunderhawk yesterday and I'm spending today prepping her. I've never worked with a metal miniature as big before and I'm wondering if you have any advise, both for prepping her and painting.

I've also been busy testing a new line of paints that I found over at CMoN and that I hope will make it to the market: http://www.klatu.org/2015/04/12/pois...esting-review/

Thank you, it was quite fun trying them out.

I started on a base for Jessica Thunderhawk yesterday and was wondering if anyone has any ideas or input on it.

I have nothing for you, just wanted to pop in and say I am looking forward to seeing what you do. Love that dwarf dude from the other thread!

Base is looking lush already, and Jess is an awesome model, looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

    Thanks!

Here's two bad photos of the present progress. I've started with her face and cleavage. It's the first time I've painted eyes at any size where you actually can see them. Feedback is always welcome.

The paint looks a bit grainy on the photos but it looks worse then it is :)

I found (and ordered) my next project when I'm done with Jessica, Aradia Miniatures Malefik, I love the style of it so it was an easy choice to make.

I just realized that I had missed a pretty big mold line after painting all day today so she's taking a relaxing simple green bath now.

Yea that was my reaction too. But she's stripped and ready to be primed again.

The state of Jessica atm (not a good photo):

I got some new miniatures in the mail this week, the Abyssal Warlord and Smog Rider Kitty Reimer from Scale75 and Malefika from Aradia. I'm very much looking forward to start working on them.
