The Beer Belly Burn Off Challenge

As you all know I am a very handsome devil but slowly over the years (especially after stopping smoking) the weight has gone on so I have decided to really push and shift it again. I thought writing my experience down here in public might motivate me better and if anyone else is trying to do the same thing we can motivate each other!

My starting weight last week was 17st 1 3/4lbs

My diet is reasonably healthy, its not often I eat crisps or cakes, etc but I do eat a fair bit and I get little time to exercise (if Im not looking after the kids im painting/runing wamp) so its harder to shift the weight.
My main issue is lunchtime and evenings. I tend to have a couple of sandwiches on a dinnertime and I usually have a couple on a night so phase 1 was stopping this. So dinner time just a single sandwich and none on an evening (fruit instead)

This first week has been doing that and just general not eating treats.

I did my first weigh in this morning and in the first 7 days I have dropped 5 1/2lbs. Well chuffed with that and I only look 5 months pregnant now instead of 8!!
thats sits me at 16st 10 1/4lb and my goal for this week is 2lbs so aiming for 16st 8 1/4lb by next monday. (hopefully a little more but 2lb a week is a good rate)

Once the kids break up from school I can get the mountain bike out and put in some miles as the wife will be at home (shes a a teacher) which should help shift some fat too.

    Short for "stone" right?

Everytime I watch one of thos toughman competitions, they always say something like "This next challenger who they call the "Hungarian Hulk", is lifting well over three stones and is about to throw it over a semi, which he will then pull with his teeth."

I know this is going to sound totally "American," but I didnt realize anyone actually used Stone weight measurements. Brett, if it makes you feel any better I have about three stones on you. :( Good luck in your weight loss goal!

I'm in the process of getting fit again....currently doing a combination of weight training and running... Was doing P90X but it involves a lot of jumping and being in a flat the people probably won't appreciate me bouncing around sounding like I'm about to come through the ceiling lol

Butcher don't use stone's yo! We're officially metric but everyone still thinks in imperial over here. Good Luck! For the record I need to lose weight to. I lose about 20lb during golf season and put on about 19 over the winter. So it's happening!

I recommend Fitocracy for fitness motivation. The community is great and very supportive of all levels of fitness. I'm such a gamer that I love the fact that I get points and levels for working out ... I'm currently level 33 :)

Thanks Heather and welcome to Wamp.

just in the process of persauding the mrs to spend the insurance compo on a new mountain bike. Its not the dream bike I want (that is around 6,000!) but its still a decent one if I can get it bt she thinks wardrobes and crap are better purchases!
