Hah cool, I used to go to Park Junior/middle/School and live in Denton Terrace behind the civic centre. Now-a-days we live up in Ferry Fryston though. WT P.s. I also went to university in keele, isn't that about 1/2 an hour from Crewe? :P

Thanks for the message :) Just trying to find my way back into the hobby and motivate myself to paint and build again. As for OZ - I started travelling well over a year ago and it seems I am stuck down under now.... hoping to meet some local people with similar interests.

My French is very poor but I have enough to survive but phone calls to Orange technical support, satellite TV installers and exterminators have proved beyond my capabilities.

It's fantastic here though. Last week we were sitting in the garden in T shirts in 23 degree heat. This week is a bit more winter-like but still a damn sight warmer than the UK.

    Hey exile,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty excited about being here. It feels a lot like the Wyrd forums used to. A lot of crazy banter and some amazing work being put up.

As I've said, I'm mostly a terrain guy, but I do like to sling a brush now and then. Nothing this week though. I've already got well over 20 hours in at work and it isn't Tuesday yet. Tomorrow looks to be close to 24 hours too. Don't work in entertainment. It gets really stupid sometimes!

Maybe next week I'll be able to get some more painting done though. I aim to win this little contest!

And thanks for the inspiration too. Helps tons!

    Hi James,

    Thanks for the "poke".

I have found all of my hobby stuff amongst the sea of boxes in my new garage but doing anything with them will have to wait for a whole host of jobs to get done first. In particular, I need to eradicate the Skaven warhost (a bit of an exaggeration) that's living in the loft above my son's room!

    Hi James,

Just caught the "across the pond" section of the latest miniature news blog entry. You're a star!

But close those curtains; the sun's glaring off your pictures

Thanks James! I'm also a James...but my beard is more luxurious.

So what is it all about you ask, Help for Heroes is a UK charity which is raising funds to help wounded soldiers

"Itís about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. Itís about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, itís about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. Itís about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. Itís about Ben, itís about Steven and Andy and Mark, itís

The Draw of 54

by exilesjjb on 30-03-2010 at 01:44 AM
Well I am happy to see Wamp back, well done DL for your fast actions. I spent the weekend finishing the last two LA bits (pictures will follow later) and finishing the 1/35th PMC guys. I have had so mouch fun painting this scale that when I dropped them off at the Model shop I picked up another set do work on
I had a look at the figures when I got home and the detail is incredible, they are just as good as many resin figures

The bigger the better

by exilesjjb on 24-03-2010 at 04:07 AM
Well another week over and I got some good painting done, had a few firsts too this week. I painted my first bust, a Sicbor goblin.

Finished him now and had great fun, I am taking a liking to the bigger scale figures and think I will be doing more of this size (well I do already have the figures). I have 4 or 5 54mm Scibor figures which I now feel happy to get painting. Anyway the bust is going in the LA comp so keep

Tea Boys are done.

by exilesjjb on 17-03-2010 at 12:26 AM
Well on Monday I dropped of the tea wars figures at Ants place and a good talk about the plans they have. I must say one of the things that has struck me since I joined this on-line world is the number of people who follow their dreams, be it a figure company, a hobby shop or just commission work. It must take some nerve to do any of these things and I take my hat off to all who try, this is why I was more that happy to help Ant and the Blackpyramid boys, its good karma.
When I was at Uni
