  1. First off I used a product called Easy Cast. In the directions they tell you how you can sand and buff the material to clean it up if you want to. As far as keeping out air bubles that has to do with how you pour it. First you should be careful mixing the solution so that you don't add in too many air bubbles. Next, when you pour it in you pour a very thin stream of the resin into the mold from a good distance away- that will allow the bubbles to pop some. Also you pour in the same lace and let the resin do the work of flowing into the cavity. As a last step you can spray a little mold release agent on the top of the poured resin which will help release any bubbles that come to the surface.

    HTH and welcome to WAMP!

You have a base of a pirate themed piece that I'm curious about. I spotted a piece by another modeler on another forum who has done similar work, and it begs the question of how you get the sides of the base crystal clear? There are no mold blemishes, bubble marks, fogging, etc, etc. I hadn't noticed it on yours, but on hers, there were sharp edges to the 'water' where horizontal met vertical, and there was no meniscus visible or evidence it had been sanded off and the edges polished. Thanks.

A View from the Tower: Reviews and Scoring

by Cregan Tur on 11-05-2015 at 09:24 PM
A lot of things have changed recently with how WAMP will handle its reviews. Another change is that our reviews are no longer handing out numeric scores. Thatís a pretty big change, I know, and itís one Iíve been contemplating over the past few months.

The thought of departing from a standard numeric scoring system first occurred to me back when I reviewed AlexiZís painting tutorial from CMON. It scored extremely low because of a number of technical and production issues that diluted
