Biography:

Hi,
I am married (to the lovely Nina) and have two great kids, Caitlin (12) and Harrison (9).
I live in Herts, near St Albans and I'm a veteran wargamer and painter, in age not skill ;) and returned to the hobby a few years ago through my nephew getting interested in the GW LOTR game. He has since grown up and gone on to Uni and Girls but I was re-hooked

Definitely still consider myself a gamer and hobbyist, but find that due to time mostly, dont play that much, so more of a collector of mini's and scenery (room full of lots of plastic grey stuff) with the intent to paint more than anything else. I just can't help that shiny syndrome though (two bug recent Kickstarters- ouch) and my wife keeps asking why I need more models when some many remain unpainted! Just getting my 9 year old son interested and he loves the painting as well.

I would describe my painting as decidedly average but wanting to improve! I can produce OK tabletop stuff but it tends to take me longer than I would like and want to push on from this and be able to do some justice to some of the great models i have invested in that have been sitting unpainted as I am just not confident enough to tackle them yet.
I have painted a few things I have spent a bit more time on to try and develop my skills (cygnar battle box most recently) and hope to be able to spend more time on this in the future. I am hoping to get up to Golem in the new year for some private tuition to help with this, but have been getting some inspiration from a few sources (MWG, Mantic, Beasts of War websites, Cool Mini as well as Wamp of course).

As with most people I think time is the biggest challenge but I am determined to try and improve over the coming months (years), speed up the tabletop stuff, but develop enough skill to be able to turn out some good standard character and centrepiece models. I have found myself enjoying the painting more and more hence taking the plunge, joining up and popping my head over the parapet so be gentle!
