I still did the juicing technique, and I'm getting used to it; I can definitely see applications where it will be ideal for achieving the look I want.

I'll give a walkthrough on this one to give the general idea of the process, but I'll probably not do this for future models, because it really adds a lot of time to the work to pause and grab the camera all the time. ;)

Continued some work on my Colette starter box for Malifaux. I am experimenting with the "juicing" technique for this whole set. This basically means using really, really thin paint and doing multiple glazes to achieve the desired tones and blending. So far, I'm kinda liking it.

I didn't take shots of each step because, well, I suck. ;) Here's the finished Mannequins. Unfortunately, the pic is a little bit washed out; I still have to find the best settings on my camera.

Originally, I thought I would write up a single blog post detailing my walk-through of painting up the Colette starter box for Malifaux, but I think that might actually make the post a bit too long. Not too long ago, I picked up a used Aztek A4709 airbrush on ebay. I played around with it some, and decided that I liked it, so recently got a brand new Aztek A7778 (the A4709 is a resin body, while the A7778 is a metal body). The trigger action is better, and I like the weight of the gun more. Anyway, there seems to be a fairly growing trend with airbrushes and our hobby, so I thought I'd post some of my thoughts after having messed with one for a few models now.
