I have officially finished the angel part of this tiny diorama of sorts. I put a wash on her armor last night, did touch-ups, and did her wings as well. I decided that the “blue jay” approach wouldn’t work.. so I left out the white parts of the wings and just went with black and blue. I added the lines after I shaded the wings with a mixture of blue + orange and highlighted it with a mix of blue + light orange + white. I really like how the wings look, my photos do them no justice. I think the wings along took 1-2 hours! Very worth it, though.
Tonight I plan on finishing her up and getting the water effects laid down so they will dry overnight. Once that’s finished and thoroughly dried, I’ll paint the “base” she’s on black (it’s an upside down wooden candlestick ) Enjoy!!

1. The last feathers on the underside of the left wing; the black/blue demarcation is almost ruler straight and with the black being so solid really makes it look 'painted' if you understand what I mean.
2. It may be the lighting but I feel that the hilt/pommel of the sword needs a bit more wash to tone it down in the recesses where dirt would gather with constant use - and not likely to be cleaned.
Just my two cents worth
As for the hilt, it may be the lighting as it's not that bright in person.. but it definitely wouldn't hurt to have another coat of wash on it :) The show is on Saturday so I have a time constraint on getting her finished :( and have no idea what to do with the wing. Should I maybe drybrush some of the shading color into it so it's not so solid?
