Today I broke down and painted the metallics on her armor; this time experimenting with “shading” the armor with regular paint. I know it can be done and have read about it, however I just tried my own take and I must admit, I really like it. Sad thing is, once finished doing the detailing work on the armor, my eyes were shot for the night. I think I probably put a good 5 hours in her today and I base coated her wings.

I also took a friend’s advice and made her tunic more teal by adding very thin layers of blue to the area. It’s not nearly as green as it was, but not necessarily “true teal” either. I like it, either way, and am pretty happy with it.

I need to do a wash on the armor, but I’m on the fence on doing a wash on her clothing. I really like how it looks now, and I worry that if I do do a wash that I won’t be able to get that shading back. I don’t know.

Here she is:

The toned down teal is much improved. I'd just do a wash on the armour as the clothing looks good and will, I think, be enhanced by the armour.

Thanks, Wag! That's my plan; I'm glad that I wasn't going bonkers thinking I didn't necessarily need a wash for the clothes. Should I do a wash on the off-white side of the cloak?

If anything I would try and get a damp effect to the bottom edge of the cloak, maybe slightly off colour as if i'ts worn and gathered a bit of dirt. I say this because of the water effect base and the obvious effects of a long cloak, water and earth!

I like that! I'll implement it tonight :)
