An odd title you might think. But it's because my painting has improved slightly over the years I've been with WaMP and I have actually won a couple of comps. OK, pick yourselves off the floor. Now the first may have been a fluke but I suspect the second was due to the nefarious machinations of the W.A.S. And I think their dark deeds are continuing with the voting on my challenge with Spectral Dragon. SD picked a good mini and painted it well with care and effort. My entry the sole purpose of which was to help SD up the ladder was exactly the opposite. A basic GW plastic dwarf which had previously been painted with no preparation, mould lines etc still showing, was overpainted with basic colours then shaded and highlighted. I don't particularly like dwarves so felt this was a good way to enter a comp and lose thus helping someone else. Then I see the scores coming in. Unbelievable - unless it is the work of the W.A.S and more sensible voters will come along shortly.

So, back to the title. I love my painting, not the standard I achieve - 'cos that ain't gonna change - but the actual creation of paint onto minis and realising the image in the minds eye into a 3D plastic or metal object. Now I've got another challenge, this time with vegascat. the theme is 'Animal'. Well you all know wag and theme; off the wall, different planet, insanity in miniature. So now I'm thinking 'why not try and win?'

What! the wag has turned predator. Maybe, just maybe. It's just that this current little scene I'm doing is going to blow vegascat's entry away and I'm rather relishing the thought, and the victory. Perhaps 2012 will be the year that wag actually learns to paint properly - and hell will freeze over too. Oh wait, the Mayans have predicted the end of the world haven't they. Well, there you go, now you know it's true.
