I recently received some new brushes I ordered from Blick Art Supplies. I ordered with a friend who was buying some high-end colored pencils, so we split the shipping cost. I bought four brushes. I probably only need two or three, but I was ordering a new brand I'd never tried before, and wasn't sure of their sizing, so I wanted to have my bases covered.

Here's what I got:

Da Vinci Maestro Kolinsky "Miniaturist", number 2 and 0
Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinksy Sable, number 0 and 3/0

I've only tried out the Da Vinci #2 so far, and it's fantastic! I think this will be my go-to brush for most projects, with the others being reserved for finer details, like eyes, and freehand.

I learned about the Da Vinci Maestro "Miniaturist" brushes from Jen Haley, who lists the #3 on her website as her favorite miniature painting tool.
