Red Corsairs

And so it begins...

Hello everyone.

This is just a short blog for the time being.

For the past 8 years I have not painted anything other than overpriced GW figures and as I am no longer into the gaming side of things, I decided it was time for me to move on from GW. As a result, I have found been looking for miniature painting forums as well as different companies I could buy minis off. In my search for miniature painting forums, I found WAMP. The people here have been a massive help in my search for new companies to purchase minis from. I now have a good idea in my head of the different companies and minis that I would like to test out.

The other day I bought the 54mm Chicken Hunter from Scibor Miniatures and the Scavenger Leader from Mad Puppet Miniatures (along with some lovely Dark Art Miniatures resin display bases). The first mini I intend on painting is the chicken hunter model, so when it turns up in the post (tomorrow or Thursday) I will start prepping it ready for painting.

I've always painted gaming minis untill now so painting for display will be new for me. As a result I will be posting my progress as I go looking for feedback and advice from the people who know what they're doing

Keep an eye out for my next blog, where I will have hopefully prepped my new mini

Enjoy the exerience Jake, I also used to paint for gaming but now enjoy far more trying to paint for display. I enjoy the freedom of being able to choose models that I like (rather than those dictated by an army list) and the cornucopia of different manufacturers out there and the figures they produce.

I've found WAMP to be a great place with many skilled painters who are more than willing to answer questions and provide advice, even when it can appear basic. Looking forward to pics of your new minis and how they progress.
