    The Army Painter can confirm the many rumours about an upcoming range of Acrylic Designer Paints for Wargamers, scheduled to be released as individual pots in March 2012 alongside a Starter Paint Set, with an upcoming Mega Paintset in January 2012 as a sneak premier.

    Bo Penstoft, CEO of Army Painter:
    “Here at Army Painter we are very proud to be able to release a brand new range of Warpaints. There are many different types of acrylic paints of there, but no range that we know of has multiple suppliers and has been specifically designed to 100% compliment an already existing range of other products. No-one can be the best at everything, so we have taken the best suppliers in the World for each type of paint (Colour, Metallic and Inks) and utilized their strengths, seeding out their weaknesses. This way we have an absolute top-end product which is fully cohesive with the Colour Primer and Quickshade ranges (Warpaints are a 100% match to the products of the same name). Jonas Faering, our ex ‘Eavy Metal painter and co-owner of The Army Painter - has personally been in charge of the development of the quality to make sure it is the best in world, which has taken us no less than 3 years. So we are very confident we have a product that can match anything of the best out there – we do realize that is some kind of blatant statement - but we will let the hobbyists be the judges of that.

    Furthermore, we have studied intently what colours are selling and which ones are not. This has made our range extremely tight at only 36 colours, but this is actually about 90% of what colours are selling out there – you see, you do not need 18 different nuances of brown, 5 will do the job – and thus the Hobbyist can spend his extra hard earned cash on more miniatures…”

      Finally, a set that will satisfy my OCD (yes, I must own every single one) without breaking the bank and causing my kids to eat beans and bologna sammiches for a month.

      Already have. Then they retire some and add some. Must. Stop. Looking.

      Just very happy that Vallejo isn't hocked round here. Their line + Reaper's and I'd need a bigger house.

      Wonder if these use powdered or liquid pigments? Or both, since they select from different manufacturers?

      Yes, I'd be interested to know which they chose and why. REALLY give us the information why these are the best and should merit adding them above any other paint out there.

      The one line about...built to go with our dips....or whatever was a bit of a short circuit for me. Wamp needs samples!

      It'd be really interesting to see which paints/pigments came from which manufacturers.

      Colour= VMC
      Metallics = Vallejo Air Metallics
      Wash= GW washes

      Would be my choice.

      You don't think they've gone for VGC for a brighter, more saturated colour?

      The quick shades in a dropper is a nice idea for use on individual spots on a mini instead of dunking the whole mini in a vat of turpentine!!

      Don't forget the Army Painter will also be releasing a 24 page FREE painting guide too in December for Europe and January in the US!

      The colors do seem very vibrant. I would suppose that GW would have some sort of non compete clause with their current paint / wash supplier.
      I was under the impression most people made their own nowadays anyway?!

      I've heard so much about VMA metallics but I cant find them ANYWHERE?!

      Anyway, I'm just too old and too cynical to blindly take any companies word over another...ours is best...no ours is....you want my money
      prove it or bugger off.

      *sigh* yet another color name cross-reference. Not that I ever use studio paint schemes

      Yes indeed, as I am quite curious about this new line myself. Perhaps it could be a subject of the hot seat?

      You can also get the metallics here and they do great service.

      Nice new redesigned site too.

      Interesting new range might be good to try a couple, can't see what makes them different but its always good to try new paint.

      Yeah! Another paint-series which is the best and better than every other series.

      What will be the price for a single pot?

      I wonder if these are identical to the Mantic Warpaints that Army Painter makes?

      EDIT: Guess I found the answer on TWG's store site

      Warpaints are supplied in 15ml non-spill dropper bottles which ensure you always get the exact amount of paint that you need.

      These paints are the same as those supplied in both the Mantic Paints Sets and the Army Painter Warpaints Paint Sets.

      Warpaints are great value for money, each bottle containing 25% more paint than Citadel paints and at a much lower price.
