I thought Jen used the DaVinci Restauro? I'll have to look at that miniaturist...i prefer shorter bristle lengths compared to say the Raphaels

She's very nice MamaGeek, love the light, airy feelling you've achieved with the colouring. I'd agree about the skin shading as it would help the more subtle colours to stand out, particularly that gorgeously painted white cloth, and might help balance any detail you put into the face. The wings look great by the way.

Sweeeet! Those purples are really nice. That patch of white cloth is well done as well. Love the feathered wings and the armor. I might try and smooth out the hood a lil bit if you can, but man thats just a gorgeous looking cloak from the back view.

Great use of color in the cloak. I would never try something like this, but maybe I should.

Lovely combination of colours, all of which shine through in the finished cloak, adds a lot of life to the area.

    Very nice step-by-step MamaGeek!
I love how this (+ the other parts of your SBS) shows the use of colours in the shading. This will be very helpful for many of us :)
    Thanks!

The Da Vinci 0 is in between the W&N 0 and the W&N 3/0. The Da Vinci's are chunkier. They hold more paint, but they're a little harder to control - takes some getting used to.

I've made the use of teal or blue a staple of my usual skin-painting routine. It really does bring life to the shadows.

As for the photos, it is more work to stop and photograph the mini after every single layer, but I wanted to do a true WIP on this one. I'll probably write it up as an article when I'm done.

Great photography, too! Very Helpful to capture the exact same pose, frame, and focus.
