Its in direct competition with the instant mold stuff but both have their uses I have found

Nice review docbungle! It's funny you put this up now as my sister found this stuff the other day and pointed it out to me. Watching that video in your review I am impressed enough to give it a go once I get caught up on finances, could use it for shoulder-pad symbols, gun effects, ect. Any small bit would be great, and perhaps with some luck I could throw some resin in there instead and see how that works.

Do you think it'd be compatible with milliput or other two part compounds?

I am not sure how it would work with milliput as the curing time is astonishingly fast.

It is not like GS milli that can sit there for 5 minutes will you think, you need to be ready to go as soon as it is mixed

I have been using this stuff for a few years now it was originally called Silly Putty and is easy to pick up in different size containers from Hobby Craft here in the UK.

Ideal for press moulding and once dried (about 5 minutes if that) you can use miliput, GS, Magic sculpt or plaster to cast with it, haven't tried it with resin but it is a silicon substance with an oily feel so I might give it a go

Does someone know if it can be used directly on a plastic miniature?
e.g. a shoulder pad of a Space Marine

Considering it was being used on a piece of plasticard in the video tutorial I don't see why not, and this is precisely what I had in mind.

I recently used a similar material (silligum) to cast shoulder pads icons for a Crimson fist squad and Rhino icons here (http://www.wamp-forum.com/photopost/bill-27s-minis/p1994-crimson-fists-tactical-squadmarch-2011.html)and here (http://www.wamp-forum.com/photopost/bill-27s-minis/p1995-crimson-fists-razorbackmay-2011.html). It worked extremely well and I'd heartily recomend it.From memory I think it's used in the Miniature Mentor tutorial (converting a dreadnough) where a cast is made of the leg armour using Silligum to make the mould and a polymer putty to cast the piece.
