Well folks our first ever Pulp City contest has drawn to a close and what a great contest it was. 32 entries ranging from superheroes to robotic apes filled the gallery and it was down to you to pick 5 worthy winners. And pick you did and so without further ado I can declare the first ever Pulp City contest winner to be ...........

with his fantatic entry Chronin:

In second place with another lovely piece was Daveyboy with Red riding Hoodoo

Third place we have........... A TIE!! (well not an actual piece of formal wear but the other kind of tie!) between Scottradom and Dr Willets Workshop, both with great versions of the same mini! As the scores were level I asked an indepenant adjudicator to make the final decision so after much Deliberating Mrs Darklord awarded 3rd place to...........

Scottradom and Dr WIllets gaining 4th place.

That just leaves 5th place and that goes to a lovely entry from Lady Argent (formerly known as sgasaki)

So folks those are your winners and all well deserved. they receive the following prizes:
Orki: Giant Hadron (as yet unreleased and stands 12cm tall!) + Dr Tenebrous
Daveyboy: Le Murtiple (3 miniatures) , Silverager + Dr Tenebrous
Scottradom: Skyline + Dr Tenebrous
Dr WIllets Workshop: Jade Hawk + Dr Tenebrous
Ladyargent: Dr Tenebrous

So there we are folks, almost done and dusted, but wait! In the words of Mr Jimmy Cricket 'theres more'!

Yes we have 5 more copies of Dr Tenebrous to give away to some of you lucky folks. These winners are chosen by myself for entries that may not necessarily be the best painted (though they are all great!) but display the Wamp spirit by pushing themselves to try new techniques, have fun with their painting or just try really hard!
So if your name is below your winners too!

Hexor - Cryostasis - just a cool diorama
Bubb Ho-tep -Seabolt - anyone that manages 9 entries deserves something!
John S - Dr Tenebrous - nice painting, good bloodwork and the base really set's this off
Neolis - Libra - Love the water effect complete with starfish
Neatpete - Dead Eye - nice overall piece but the freehand work and the base really set this off and creates a nice scene

So folks that really is everything now. Winners can you all pm me your name and address please.
Just time to say a big thank you to everyone that took the time to enter, vote and comment. Prizes are great but so is the feedback and I know entrants appreciate it so feel free to go comment on the entries.
Also a massive thanks to Pulp City for supporting this contest, their minis are lovely so if you havent got some already I can recommend them. Their site can be found here (http://www.pulp-city.com/)

So folks there we are , I hope you've enjoyed it and as always any problems just let me know

(oh and apologies for the delay - I got to writing the penultimate sentence then accidentally deleted the whole thread so had to re-write it all!)

Congratulations. Orki, on your win. And "Well done" to everyone else that took part...

I've really been Slack-pants these last few months on the voting side of these competitions and all I can say is "Sorry" to everyone who's spent time on their entries. I've managed to vote a couple of times on things but not as many as I should, what with Real Life and all that...

I'll get more involved from now on, though...

07-01-2011, 04:57 PM
I didn't actually...I was about to pm Darklord about it^^

07-01-2011, 05:42 PM
I suppose with the extra snow in places things will have been delayed.

07-01-2011, 07:49 PM
At least I now know I am not the only one not to get their prize, I was afraid that they had got lost in the post or something.
As you say Roger the bad weather and possibly the christmas hols may have delayed things a little.

07-01-2011, 08:16 PM
Nope, me neither. I dont know if its been released yet though.

08-01-2011, 03:57 AM
Nothing here either. I was just thinking about this today and contemplated contacting them directly. I think 3 months should be enough time to get them in the post.

08-01-2011, 04:16 AM
Nothing yet.

08-01-2011, 10:59 AM
I'll chase them up folks - I know at the time they had the site hacked and problems so maybe its been overlooked.

18-01-2011, 04:14 PM
Just had a look and they've got the shop up and running fine it seems, and the Giant Hardon (just for you, Undave ) has been released now too. I guess we'll be seeing some prizes soon then? :)

22-01-2011, 04:56 PM
Been a couple of weeks since your last post Brett, you get any reply from them yet? I guess not otherwise you'd probably have told us about it by now obv. :(

11-02-2011, 02:05 AM

*shuffles nonchalantly*

11-02-2011, 08:42 AM
Sorry Orki,
I am still chasing them up mate. Dont know what it is with companies these days - never had any issues before this lastyear now it seems it takes me tons of emails and several months to even get a reply yo an email

11-02-2011, 04:35 PM
Hey no worries dude. I hoped you'd at least done your bit, and that someone somewhere was just a little reluctant to get off thier arse and give up the goodies.

I wonder if the paying customers have been getting thier new minis ok? :O

28-02-2011, 08:04 PM
Had work back from Macej at Pulp City and he sends his apologies and will get these sorted tomorrow.

I know - never had any problems in 3 years of comps then 2 at once!! Makes me look an ass!

07-04-2011, 10:16 AM
Thats what happens when you do the donkey-work mate.

All that trekking around carrying the burden of us all, sooner or later you get caught in the wrong light and appear to have no... ahem, equipment.

What you need is for someone to invent a big pointy e-stick! Or tell 'em you'll send Vern round...

07-04-2011, 10:36 AM
What you need is for someone to invent a big pointy e-stick!

I'm working on it:

01-06-2011, 10:20 PM
I heard that it's a 28mm mini?

Come on, be fair! It's at least 32. ;)

And many thanks again to Brett and Jed (I think it was?). Now I just need to work out what i'm gonna do with a mini the size of an action man doll... Could be fun for a bit of choppy/sculpty stuff. :)
