Saw this on the Warlords site yesterday when James posted their new releases

Not really impressed with the vac formed sail though, I think they sould have left it plaine and not the diamond hatching.

That is very true but I have enough figures in my unpainted mountain I really don't think I need to add a viking longboat

I am only buying wargames stuff I can use in a game so would not have much use for this, saying that it looks very nice

You might as well spend the extra 15 and get the gripping beast resin longboat.
you get the crew, metal oars, dragons head, tail, shields and rope ties. (you need to supply your own sail rope and mast)

The warlord one is just a Revell re-pop with no crew and you'd have to cut the hull if you wanted to use it in a game.

Plus the sail decal seems to be a giant stylised viking and thats so innaccurate you might as well paint a hello kitty on it.

As suggested on the WL forum this is the fate that awaits my boat:

Even though that looks like the GB version t'would be a crying shame to massacre that great big lump of resin when plastic is easier to work with. This way I get two markers to use for the invasion scenario in the Shieldwall campaign for the price of a single boat.

And don't forget you can use the rest of the left over bits as beach flotsum etc lol
