Got the Airbrush out earlier in the week to prime and basecoat some models.

For this challenge I'm doing the Ember Mage from Super Dungeon Explore. It's a fun piece, and I've been itching to paint up some of these game pieces.

Here's the model with the airbrush work done:

I actually got some more base coating down last night, but forgot to snap a picture.

bet it took longer to set your airbrush up than to spray it!

My entry will be the new Lenore mini from Hasslefree

I primed several models at once, which made it more worth while.

Great choice! I need to look into Hasslefree more, but it's a bit hard to get their stuff here in the states.

While working on my PfP mini, I got the gem in the staff done, and her mouth painted:

You've nearly finished and I'm still deciding on the colour scheme for mine...

Nah, I have a ways to go yet. And there's no rush, take your time!

We do need an end date, though, to keep us honest. How many weeks do you want to go? 3? 4?

Can we say 4 weeks? I'll try and finish sooner though.

Sure, 4 weeks is fine. Say Apr 22nd or so?

Sheer is done and it looks acceptable, inside of the cloak next. Just ordered some 10/0 brushes to do the detail work.

My mage is looking good, but I keep running into issues with the sculpt - this plastic has some really washed out details.

I'm mostly done. How are you coming along Wag?

Figure done, freehand not as tidy as I'd like but couldn't get enough paint on the 10/0 to keep a flow so had to use a 5/0. Just doing the base tonight then get photos done, possibly tomorrow. Will let you know when I'm done so we can set up a voting thread.

Well, for what it's worth here's my entry. Given my dodgy eyes and unsteady hands I'm really pleased with the result. Such a gorgeous mini I had to try something special, most of it done with a 5/0 brush and occasionally a 10/0. Get your entry posted up Plarzoid and we can ask for a voting thread though I think it's obvious you'll win.

Damn Wag, that's some great work on the sheer cloth, and the rest isn't half bad either.
To me this is a huge improvement since your last model. As said, the sheer is brilliant, the boot is great, and the freehands on the cloak are subtle and very well executed.
Two things I'd try to look into, if I were you, is defining the different volumes or materials a little more by lining/shading in the points where they meet (for example, her left hip/upper leg), and pushing the contrast a little further, especially on the cloak.
Your work on this one certainly paid off; that's one excellent miniature.

In-laws are in town since Thurs, haven't had a chance to get out the light box and take pics yet. I should be able to get that done on the 22nd (they fly out that morning).

She looks great, Wag! The sheer cloth is far more ambitious than anything I've tried, well done! I think the free hand looks great, too.
