View Full Version : WAMP Monthly: Mix it up

Ok Following on the coat-tails of the highly successful speed painting thread I have had an idea for another little contest. It's called "Mix it up". The idea is simple, paint something in a colour scheme not associated with the mini. Paint a spacemarine as Mr Blobby, A dark elf as a Necron, a Skel as a woodelf.

It's late and I'm knackered so this idea, in the cold light of day, might be a bit crap so let me know if you're interested or not and if it's a crap idea from a fevered, tired mind.

as long as there's a bit more time, I could well be up for this. Got lots of Orks lying around...

Yeah I would like to see top notch PJ's on these so a much longer time frame. I'd like to keep the same format though, everyone posting WIPS and trash talk during the time frame.

With more time I'll participate for sure.

I like the idea a lot :)
With a longer time slot (although I must say I was really tempted by the speed paint thing) I might be in on this one. I'm just not sure if I can find a mini I would be able (and willing) to use...

With 3 minis going on now, not sure if I can get one done, but it sounds fun!

So this all about 'Paint like Wag' then?

I think this sounds like fun!

I'll give it a few more days so gauge the interest and if it looks like a go-er I'll set up a sign-up thread.

What an odd idea !!
Can't say right now, let me think about it ...

Come to think of it, I have here one mini that could qualify for the mix it up topic :

This assembly is the latest of a long series of unlikely miniatures (I call them "Abstraits"), made up of randomly picked parts from my bitzbox.

Besides being very fun to do, these things have their utility (testing a new paint reference, an unusual colour scheme or a technique I'm unsure of).

Darn, have a whole army of them now !

Sounds like another fun one! If i've got the time I'd be well up for it, though I fear commissions and other projects will get in the way. :(
