If you aint on the list, you can't get in!

here is a link (http://www.wamp-forum.com/VB4/showthread.php?11852-Wamp-Global-Speed-Paint-Day-WAMP-Monthly)to the rules discussion thread. I must say I'm disappointed with the lack of trash talk going on, come guys if there is a tie on the voting it might all come down to how well you can verbally *****slap your opponents!

Neatpete needs a slump buster. Is it just one mini? Not sure on the exact rules if there are any. I'm in if the date works with me.

Super in, but I will abandon EVERYTHING if weather is golf friendly. Sorry kids. I also don't know if I'd be able to do the hourly update as during daytime hours my computer is usually in use. Sorry, kids! Other than those two lame sounding preexcuses I am for sure 110% in!

Fine, I'll try this... using a Sunday (my time) slot if possible. More likely to have time on Sundays than Saturdays here.

I'm in, I should be able to paint on the day in question, whatever we decide that is. 4 hours should be doable even if I get a job.

NeatPete
03-05-2012, 01:50 AM
Four hours? I thought it would be like a 24 hour straight thing... Letting me down wamp.

Shane, should you not add some restrictions here ?
Namely, I'm thinking "use of airbrush", as it would give us airbrushers an unfair advantage in a 4 hours speed contest.

ScottRadom
03-05-2012, 01:57 PM
I say use the airbrush! It might be good motivation to pick up an airbrush or to start using the ones some of us have. We're not doing this for prizes or anything... let 'er buck!

shanerozzell
03-05-2012, 02:05 PM
I totally agree if you want to use the airbrush fire away. We're not judging methods, just the final result.

kdlynch
03-05-2012, 02:08 PM
aye, and not even sure an airbrush is all that much faster on a std. mini anyway... it takes a couple seconds to clean a paint brush... but cleaning out your airbrush does come out of that 4 hr window. and if you're painting a tank or something, well, you'll need the edge an airbrush can deliver at those sizes just to finish. :)

But now I have a problem: which mini to prep for painting?? lol!

Orki
03-05-2012, 03:06 PM
Cleaning your airbrush? *pfft* Chuck it in some thinners and come back for it later! :P

This sounds fun though, and assuming its running on a day that i'm at home, I will probably join in methinks.

Too bad this means that Quick Shade is out. Takes a lot longer than 4 hours for that stuff to dry :p

only 4 hours I guess I can limit myself to 2 or 3 figures, prob some of the FIW stuff I am working on ATM, not the french though as that would be too easy (I am painting them at 6 per hour ATM :) )

Nord

Is it four hours continuous or a couple of two hour sessions? The latter would be better for me (I know, me, me, me).

breadhead.

The new warpaints range has matches for the Quick Shades and they work pretty well from my limited experiments with them.

I'd also love to get in on this but not really possible right now.

Sign me up!
I just did a 4 hour competition with a group of friends and we posted them on CMON. =)
Heres mine:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/304752
I need to work on my speed painting techniques. =)
Anyway, when we did our 4 hour competition, the person who organized it, had the contest run from a Friday to a Sunday and we had till Monday to post our pics. That worked out since we all work and we were able to just fit in the 4 hours however worked for us.

Well that's me stuffed then. I've got to go shopping today and then pick Kate up from film club at 5, it's not looking very likely that I'll be able to scrape an uninterrupted 4 hour block tomorrow, Cubs on Thursday and then packing the car on Friday. It looks like the first chance I'll get is going to be at least two weeks from now. If we're still going I'll certainly join in but I don't want you guys to have to stretch it out just for my benefit.

Hi Chris, the more the merrier and with all speed painting contests time is a good leveller.

NeatPete

Might either do this on Friday night (have to work saturday so no party for me) or Sunday. Sunday is usually fish tank day though. So I'll shoot for Friday night.
